Random But Important Things I Stumbled On
Language Learning App Duoling Now Speaks Metaverse (The Drum) - I’ve been using Duolingo for years, but what really sparked my interest was the combination of my son’s favorate metaverse (Roblox) and the app I press him to spend time on in the summer so he doesn’t regress in his Spanish (Duolingo). A dad can always hope :-)
Cryptocurrencies In The EU: Deal Struck Between Parliment and Council (Parliment) - Clarity, at least in the EU, about which regulators will oversee what. While they have not established if an NFT is a financial instrument or a crypto asset, the regultory body MiCA is in charge. Implications for real estate and web3 real estate companies can now start to be figured out, again in the EU.
Really enjoyed the A16Z article, this phrase especially: "People use digital spaces when they create opportunities not available in the “outside option” of the physical world".
In the short run, it is likely the metaverse will create innovations and opportunities not available in our current lives. Regarding longer term trends, who knows..
